Effiective: Sept 1, 2005 the Comal Appraisal District Website will no longer display photographs and building sketches for all properties. In accordance with Senate Bill 541, as passed by the Texas Legislature, information in appraisal records may not be posted on the Internet if the information is a photograph, sketch, or floor plan of an improvement to real property that is designed primarily for use as a human residence. Photographs and building sketches of properties will still be available for viewing by the public at our office during normal business hours.

Within this site you will find general information about the District and the ad valorem property tax system in Texas, as well as information regarding specific properties within the district.

Comal Appraisal District is responsible for appraising all real and business personal property within Comal County and parts of four surrounding counties. The district appraises property according to the Texas Property Tax Code and the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practices (USPAP).
